Universitat Rovira i Virgili

Benvinguda de la degana

Welcome,

On behalf of the Faculty of Nursing of the Universitat Rovira i Virgili, I welcome you to our website.

The aim of this site is to give you the chance to get to know the Faculty, the three centres where nursing courses are taught, and the people entrusted with ensuring that everything works as it should.

When the School of Nursing became a part of the University in 1991, it began to take active part in the history of nursing. The URV's Faculty of Nursing now has four centres that teach bachelor's degrees, master's degrees, and doctoral and postgraduate programmes in professional specialities, and also engage in research and provide society with a range of services.

The curriculum of the Bachelor's Degree in Nursing meets with the requirements of quality established by EU legislation. The learning methods help students acquire the skills they need to work in health promotion, prevention, healing and rehabilitation in health care as well as to accompany patients in their final hours. The work experience programme is an important part of the degree and students can get practical experience in a variety of health care settings around the region, so gaining an understanding of the possibilities offered by a degree in nursing.

The master's degree and doctoral programmes introduce students to the research competencies they will need for an academic career and give them experience in other fields of professional development that enable the discipline to evolve.

Our teaching is reinforced with training in clinical simulation areas, a necessary support for our students' learning process.

In order to encourage student mobility, the Faculty has mobility agreements with national and international universities so that students can do part of their course at other universities. Likewise, we welcome students from other universities who complete their degree courses in our Faculty.

If I had to highlight one particular aspect of the Faculty, it would be the commitment of the staff to the quality of the services and teaching innovation, and the facilities and resources at the disposal of teaching-learning processes.

The health sciences are constantly evolving and the Faculty needs to be able to adapt to change if it is to serve society. The degree in nursing currently offers excellent employment opportunities in the health sector.
